War Games (Invasion) Explained and Strategic Tips and Tactics

by HQ Commander on June 9, 2011

This is an entirely different aspect to the Battle Map that we talked about a few posts back. The primary difference between these two is that the War Games pits you against human players rather than evil AI Generals. How will that work in the long run remains a mystery but its quite fun and enjoyable at this early stage of Empires and Allies.

Empires and Allies Guide

You must be at least level 6 before you can start invading your neighbors and they should be level 6 and above as well. The mechanics of invading your neighbors is roughly similar to that in Backyard Monsters but there’s plenty of differences as well. One thing is that you can only occupy a certain area of your neighbor’s base should your attack be successful.

You will be able to initially loot the goods on that area. Additional bonuses can be collected after a certain time has passed as long as your neighbor fails to drive you out of their land.

That basically is the concept of invasion, its so simple but it can lead to extreme wars of attrition which makes it more fun. You also gain infamy points the more you invade your neighbor’s territory. Infamy points give you offensive Power-ups.

Offensive and Defensive Strategies

We will now talk on the different ways on effectively conquering your neighbors. Remember the following basic Empires and Allies strategies when attacking or defending your base.

  1. There is Strength in Numbers- this works for both offense and defense, its best to amass your forces first before going on the offensive.
  2. Attack Weak Spots- Its likely that your neighbors will have lapses in their troop placement on their base. Scan those areas with minimal resistance and attack there.
  3. Go for Resources - the primary goal of your invasion should always be pillaging the resources of your neighbor, so be sure to place your troops on resource generating structures. This allows you to loot whatever resources your neighbor has.
  4. Scout your Enemy’s Strength- Strength means his total military units and of what type they are. The game’s unit employ a rock-paper-scissors element so you can be certain that each unit has its own strength and weakness.
  5. Be Agressive- this is not Cityville wherein you focus on making your City grow. This is war and the more agressive you get the stronger you become.

Empires and Allies Cheats

That covers our introduction of the Empires and Allies Invasion system, we will continue to provide you in-depth strategy and tactics as soon as they become available.
